A Portion of Profits Benefiting:

 

Simply Clear Marketing, Inc., the producers of the  SLO County Health and Fitness Expo's 5k Run, donated $1,000 in 2010 to benefit the Community Health Centers Teen Obesity Prevention Program (CHC-TOPP) as a result of the profits from the 5k Run.  The program has made an indelible impression on local at-risk youth. 

The CHC Teen Obesity Prevention Program has to date a roster of over 600 students, with another 200+ signed up for the 2010 sessions. The $1000 donation from the 5K Run will provide 15 scholarships for needy students to participate in the program. The CHC Teen Obesity Program focuses not only on weight loss, but on the development of healthy habits and increasing students' self-confidence.

Community Health Centers of the Central Coast, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit network of 21 health centers that provide medical services to all people, with emphasis on under-served, uninsured and at-risk residents. CHC was founded as a rual health clinic in 1978, and now cares for over 60,000 patients in San Luis Obispo and northern Santa Barbara Counties, including on-campus healthcare services at four area high schools.
